Pitusa (pee-tuh-sa), i.e. funny little girl in Spanish, is designer and founder Clara Lago’s childhood nickname. Clara who is British and Spanish, moved to Miami for university. It was there that she set out to design comfortable and affordable clothing that could be worn every day, by every woman.
Founded in 2010, Miami based Pitusa was established with the goal of providing high quality, comfortable and affordable beachwear.
Pitusa draws its inspiration from the beauty that every woman has to offer. Their pieces are made from the finest Peruvian and Indian cotton, using a vibrant colour palette and their signature Inca trim.
Pitusa predominantly employs women-owned ateliers, in Peru, Bali and India. All garments are manufactured under ethical and fair trade working conditions.
Clara started with a little budget. Now Pitusa, with zero outside investment, has grown to a multimillion dollar company selling to over 300 stores all over the world. An inspiring story! #MadeInPeruWithLove
